Yo-yo Time!

I'm cutting out circles to make a bunch of yo-yos:) My goal is to make a purse out of them. My sister featured one on her blog. And, yes, she knows I'm copying her:)

So this is my new project to work on while Bella is sleeping.....in fact she's sleeping now.....

Strips, Strips, and More Strips!

I have piles and piles of fabric strips that I am connecting together to crochet a bag/purse! I am beginning to believe that piles are multiplying... Like how Jesus multiplied the boy's fish and bread in the Bible to feed the 5,000! ....Maybe one day soon I can start crocheting! I am determined to get it done!...

Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips

Here's a yummy treat to try! We were at Silver Dollar City in Missouri last week. In the candy store they were selling Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips! And, of course, my husband said that I should try making it.
So today I made some! If you like salty and sweet things you will love them!
I recommend using potato chips with ridges. They seem to be a little thicker so they will hold the chocolate better.
Simply melt the chocolate with whatever method you prefer (I like the microwave:)),dip the chips in the chocolate, and eat!!

Hope you have a sunshiny day!

Plastic Bag Project

So I have been saving plastic bags from different places for quite sometime now. I finally got them out yesterday and started cutting them up. The idea is to fuse/iron them together and make a "plastic fabric". I can then sew it together to make whatever!.....like most things these days, it's probably gonna take me a few days to complete the project. But pictures will be posted:)

To Become a Vegetarian or To Not Become a Vegetarian

We will be embarking on a new adventure....possibly....
Aunt Sarah and Uncle Wayne are vegetarians and they make it work. I always thought I could never become a vegetarian because I need my meat! But according to the research I've done most meat eating Americans get much more protein than they actually need. And it's very easy to get enough protein in a vegetarian diet (or pesco-vegetarian- which includes fish). And a Pesco-Vegetarian diet is the healthiest vegetarian lifestyle.
Now you may ask why I am considering this? Well, it's not because I'm an animal lover! If you know me, then you know that is far from the truth! I don't hate animals....I'm just not a big fan of them:)
I have watched a couple of documentaries about where our food comes from and it has really opened my eyes! Yes, animals that are being raised to be slaughtered are treated badly. But they are also pumped up with so much bad stuff and fed foods they were not created to eat! Cows are given a corn based diet. They were created to be grass grazing animal, not to eat corn! In fact, the corn diet is so bad for them that they have to put antibiotics in their corn food so they don't get sick and die!!! And we are eating that antibiotic, hormone pumped meat????? I really wonder what a grass grazing cow would taste like.... If I could afford it I would buy all organic meat.
So, that is why I am considering taking the plunge! My husband actually suggested we try eating this way for two weeks and see how we feel....he doesn't think I can do it! So, starting this coming Monday we will embark on a two week vegetarian diet...and who knows where it may lead!
Headed to the grocery store....

Delicious Friday!

Yay, it's Friday! Yes I still get excited for Fridays even though I stay at home. It means the weekend is here and my hubby will be home!
So, I was in a baking mood today... The peach cobbler has been calling my name all day, but I've resisted temptation and I'm waiting to eat it for dessert after dinner. The peanut butter cookies are oh so yummy! And the Granola is ready to snack on and packed with healthy yummies:)
Aunt Sarah is on her way here as I type this. This weekend is the first weekend of a very busy three weekends! Tomorrow we will be having a tent at the St. Patrick's Day Festival on the Square here in Ocala. The 20th we will be at Crafts in the Park in Auburndale. And on March 27th we will be at the Odd Duck Bazaar in Davie, FL. So come out and see us! We are excited and hoping to do great at all three places! Everything is made and ready to go for tomorrow....just have to price a few things and do last minute preperations and we will be good!
Yay for Fridays, Peach Cobbler, and Craft Shows!!!!!

Where are You Warm Weather?

So it's March. We live in the Sunshine State. And it's still freezing outside!!! When will the warm weather return?!? I mean, I love the cold weather and all. But it seems like this winter has been abnormally colder than previous winters. We will have a nice day or two, but then the wind starts blowing and here comes a cold front! Again! I'm getting tired of bundling up in the mornings when I go out for a run.
The cold weather is great around the Holidays....but, Spring, I'm ready for you!!!

Jax

We arrived in Jax on Sunday evening in time to watch the Super Bowl. The hotel is quite nice.

The Turn Down Service included a fancy bottle of water.... bottled in Tuscany, Italy! It tasted like plain ol' water to me!

Each morning Coffee and juice is delivered to our room....enough coffee to last me all day!

Our view from the room!

A bridge we saw on our walk on Monday.

Yesterday was a rainy, yucky day! No walk for Bella and me! The hotel room was our home for the entire day....until it was time for the Cheesecake Factory at dinner time!

Home Sweet Home..... for a day at least

Headed back home today! Bella and I stayed with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Wayne for the week while my hubby was at training for his new job. Two weeks down....two more to go! Headed home to do laundry and repack and leave again on Sunday. This time Bella and I will go with Daddy to training.
We had a great time with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Wayne, but are sad to leave:(
We get to see Daddy though tonight! Yay!!!!!
So, Home Sweet Home....for a little while at least :)

Hi

Hi! And welcome to my blog!
In a Sunshine State...I live in Florida and I am also living a happy sunshiny life!
I'm a wife to my wonderful husband, Josue, and a mother to my precious little Bella Bean (Isabella)!
Follow me as write about my day to day happenings!

Today was a fun filled busy day! It started with me going to Disney's Boardwalk Hotel to be in a Mom's discussion panel about Facebook and how mom's use the social networking site. Disney is researching how to reach out to mom's through Facebook. There were three of us mom's and about 25 people asking questions. It was very interesting and quite fun! And getting 4 Hopper Passes for a thank you wasn't so bad either :)

Then Aunt Sarah and I got our hair cut, while Bella took one of her cat naps at the salon.

We are a very creative family...always making something!
Today we tried working with resin for the first time! It was much easier than I had thought it would be. We shall see the results tomorrow once the molds have hardened. And pics will follow as well!

So long for now... Have a sun shiny day!
